Nicholas is a tall, broad-shouldered gentleman who looks like he's in his fifties. However, anyone looking into his charasmatic face will do well not to mistake his gentleness for weakness. Although always well-dressed, Nicholas' smile reveals that he's something more than he appears.

Throughout his un-life, Nicholas has searched for beauty in all of its forms. As the bastard nephew of the king, times were hard for him, for he was shunned by both royalty and peasant alike. Thus, he joined the gypsies, who accepted him for his beautiful soul. Embraced after his troup's final performance of "Hamlet", he was chosen for his depth of character (he had enraptured his Sire, who wept as she made him). Unfortunately, he was separated from his Sire and orphaned only a week later, during the storming of the Bastille.

After fleeing Paris, Nicholas made his way to Florence, Italy. Nicholas toured Europe for a while, at least until he discovered it was too dangerous. He fled to America in 1840 with the small fortune he'd saved. Arriving in New Orleans, he presented himself to the Toreador Primogen and was welcomed. However, he stayed out of the limelight this time, performing only at the request of his Primogen. Instead, he helped other artists find the beauty in themselves and nurture it.

Recently, he met and Embraced Angelique, his soulmate. He is planning to move her from their penthouse apartment in Chicago to a newly remodeled house in New Chelsea.

Although Nicholas has a telepathic link with Angelique, he is sometimes also able to read others' minds as well. Other Kindred recognize Nicholas' overwhelming Presence, especially during a rare performance. However, Kindred might think his powers of Celerity are stronger due to his ability to get out of bad situations. This is an overestimate. Nicholas merely has the luck of a cat (nine lives, so to speak).

Chicago is becoming too dangerous due to Sabbat activities. Nicholas would leave, but is held there by clan obligations.
