Welcome to New Chelsea

New Chelsea, Illinois. Known as the 'Gothic City' due to its intimidating gothic architecture and coal-blackened walls. The city was founded in the early 1700s when it was a mining town but soon moved on to steel works. Those factories are long closed. Now the city has diversified its income-sources. Parts of the city are strange to behold, with bright neon lights and loud dance halls flat up against huge towers of stone with grim gargoyles staring down in hatred at the passers-by.

The city's Vampiric community is ruled by Rutger Leick, who slew Alexander Laplace to take the throne. He is strong, and brutal, but cunning and quick-witted. He is aided by a mysterious man called Cray, who holds a power few suspect. Now that a great evil beneath the city has been set free (Laplace had held them at bay for centuries), New Chelsea will be subject to great horror, and great pain. What will become of the city, and after that, the world?

The city is home to 4.2 million mortals, and roughly 50 Vampires. Any more and the Masquerade would become too difficult to keep. The Primogen make sure this number is kept steady.
